Offering a million thanks to the teachers who gave us a million lessons
Every single student looks up to some sort of hero in their lives. Someone who innovates like an inventor, someone who facilitates the well-being of others like a doctor or someone who pursues their passion for the arts like a painter. But the ones who built up this sort of people are teacher themselves. This years National Teacher's Month and its theme "Together4Teachers" is such a wonderful reminder how big of an inspiration they are especially to us learners.
As the youth of our nation, we should acknowldge that we are also its future. And the ones who will guide us to this journey ahead are our teachers. Bestowing us with valuable knowledge that we would keep till we graduate, work and grow till we're the elderly. Knowledge that we would always find an application in our day-to-day lives. Teaching us not only their assigned subjects and lessons but also to shape our moral understanding and cooperative social relations to have the future of the country be grounded in their values.
My Mother is a teacher herself, and I'm able to see her efforts in teaching. Always staying up late, checking her students' papers, making her lesson plan and finishing her reports. Sometimes when I'd wake up at midnight, I can see her sitting on a chair on our dinner table on her laptop. And she'd ask me "Why are you still awake?". And I could ask her the same thing for why would she be awake at such an hour. And she's truly showing how hardworking teachers are for the sake of their students.
And teachers will never leave your side, they'd teach if you're having a hard time in their lesson. They'd acknowledge and praise you for your outstanding performance as a student. And in times of grief and tears, they'd be there to teach you what's outside their subjects principles, inspiring you not to be distraught but rather taking it as another lesson.
So let us thank them, uniting as one as students. Offering a million thanks for their unending patience and dedication to their craft. Whether it be small gifts, saying thank you or to keep on striving, letting them know that they are unbelievably important to all of us. For they are what could be a catalyst in changing the world for the better.
