Regarded as the liveliest festival in the province of Ilocos Sur, the Kannawidan Festival serves as a bridge from the enriched past towards the modernized present. Held annually in Ilocos Sur’s capital, Vigan City, its colorful atmosphere and dazzling attraction still amazes the gaze of many tourists. Its name likely came from the Ilocano word “kannawidan”, subsequently meaning “heritage”. Etched into the Philippines history of diverse and bountiful cultures, the Kannawidan Festival serves as a cornerstone for the Ilocanos traditional ways. Becoming a symbol of pride and unity for the diverse people of Ilocos Sur.

 

Additionally, prominent products and goods can be observed in this festival of ours. The traditional Ilocano empanada and longgasnissa should not be kept from the public. It’s a commodity everyone is free to enjoy, as they bear the pride of traditional Ilocano cuisine. Moreover, tradition doesn’t only come in the form of cooked delights, but it is also enjoyed through the various handmade practices which this province can offer, namely, abel weaving and clay-based pottery. Which engages the locals and tourists in traditional activities, fostering a sense of cultural continuity and preserving cultural identity. Connecting us to strangers from far-off and distant lands.

In addition to celebrating the province's cultural heritage, the Kannawidan Festival serves as a platform for showcasing the talents of local artists, performers, and musicians. During the festival, various competitions and performances highlight the skills and creativity of Ilocanos in areas such as dance, music, and visual arts. These events provide an opportunity for local talent to gain recognition and exposure, fostering a sense of pride in their abilities and contributing to the overall cultural vibrancy of the province.

      Metamorphosis, a transition in habits and physical form of an animal after going through a phase of development and rebirth. The most well known example of this are caterpillars conversion to butterflies, marking change towards beauty and elegance. It's as if the animal has completely changed from one creature to another. Similarly, us humans, once we have reflected on our past and wanting to go through a process of tranformation. It is less of a biological but rather a psychological change to us people in which we attempt to correct and rectify our actions and habits over the years.Where we humans personally mature and develop. Yet our change from one form to another may not invoke gracefulness as compared to those of butterflies, where our effort to transform may not be so successful. A summit I shall overcome

     Venturing out in my last years of Junior High school, it's still in the first quarter and it has already been a hassling start to the school year. Yet I had fun, various more activities that I have participated in living in the joyous moments along with others. Furthermore, in these beginnings, I have found the true extent of my abilities. Now brimming with confidence, I can now articulate my ideas much more properly during lectures now my voice can resonate with my thoughts. While also seeing my latent abilities such as swift comprehension, long-term and short-term, logical and analytical strengths to be getting better and better.
